    Smoky Black Tea Tallow Candle
A Timeless Blend of Craftsmanship & Fragrance | Ancient Fire in Modern Form

Cradled in a handcrafted, natural clay vessel, the Smoky Black Tea Tallow Candle offers a meditative, resin-rich fragrance that evokes the scent of wood smoke, sacred rituals, and ancestral hearths. A deeply grounding blend of Choya Loban, Omani Frankincense, Vetiver, and Moroccan Cardamom, it delivers an enveloping warmth that soothes the senses and quiets the mind.

    An Homage to Ancient Craftsmanship

Each candle is poured into a pit-fired earthen vessel forged from wild clay at the base of the Sierra Mountains—a revival of ancient traditions where animal fats and flame lit the night.

Created in collaboration with Berkeley potter Matt Fishman, whose work has been featured in The New York Times, these vessels are shaped by fire, wind, and hand. Every piece is one-of-a-kind, reflecting the local Northern California landscape in color, texture, and spirit.

    Fragrance Profile

    • Lapsang Souchong Black Tea – Rich, bold, and smoky

    • Choya Loban – Ayurvedic essential oil distilled from terra cotta pots; earthy and sacred

    • Vetiver (Chrysopogon zizanioides) – Deep, grounding, and resinous

    • Moroccan Cardamom Pods – Sweet spice with a warming finish

    • Siam Wood (Vietnam) – Transcendent, soft, and meditative

    • Omani Frankincense – Ethereal and clarifying

    Crafted with Care

Each candle is hand-poured using our signature, sustainable wax base:

    • Regenerative Tallow® – From pasture-raised Northern California cattle; rich in tradition and purity

    • Raw Beeswax – From local California hives; supports a long, clean burn

    • Organic Calendula CO₂ Extract – Adds herbal warmth and golden tone

    Available Vessels

    • Fog Glazed Terracotta – Subtle and serene, like coastal morning mist

    • Smoke Brushed Terracotta – Earthy and bold, touched by flame and ash

Note: Due to the pit-firing process and the use of wild clay, each 4 oz vessel is truly unique—expect beautiful variations in tone and finish.
