Stationery has been integral to human communication and record-keeping since ancient times. In ancient Mesopotamia, clay tablets and styluses were used to inscribe cuneiform and Ancient Egyptians developed papyrus and reed pens by 3000 BC. By the Middle Ages, Europeans began using parchment, quills, and ink for manuscripts, with wax seals for document authentication, while the Industrial Revolution brought mass-produced paper, steel-nib pens, and mechanical pencils. The invention of typewriters and ballpoint pens further transformed writing tools laying the foundation for the diverse stationery products we see today.
